Oil Painting

Oil painting is a type of painting produced using oil-based paints. It involves using pigments that use a medium of drying oil as the binder and painting with them on a canvas. This course offers an introduction to Oil Painting, the preferred versatile medium to all the master painters in history. The course will start with instruction on materials, colour theory and techniques, colour mixing and use of different brushes, and methods of paint application.

Materials:
An oil paint set of minimum 12 colors.
Small canvas panels (or value-priced stretched canvas)
An oil paint brush set (or use brushes you already own)
An oil paint medium. Linseed oil.
Turpentine
Palette for color mixing , ceramic tile or old ceramic plate from home.
Old towel or Cotton Rag.
Sketch pad and Sketch pencils.
Ruler
Kneading Rubber.
Glass jar for turpentine for cleaning brushes
